Fjerkræudstillinger (Poultry Exhibitions)
The Danish Poultry Breeding Association was founded in 1878. In a statement released in 2021, the DFFR included the following information about their founding:
In the Danish Poultry Breeders' Association for Breeding, we deal with raising, breeding and exhibition of thoroughbred poultry in the form of chickens, dwarf chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks and pigeons, as well as poultry.
The first organization of poultry farming was founded in 1878 in the Danish Poultry Breeders' Association, which included both hobby breeders and commercial poultry farmers. The purpose has been to promote the development of poultry so that they can supply both eggs and meat of good quality. The best animals are shown at exhibitions to judge both exterior and egg performance. Throughout the Western world, a great diversity of breeds and colors have been bred, each with their advantages.
The Association split into two divisions in 1971 - one for commercial poultry farmers and the other for hobby breeders. The organization still holds a National Exhibition each year, and there are many local clubs, some of which hold their own local shows.
The stamps shown below are the only poster stamps issued as publicity for the shows. (To the best of my knowledge to date).
